Travel face. Minimalist makeup kit.
I don’t tend to bring a whole bunch of makeup with me when I’m traveling as it’s cumbersome and things can get smashed in transit, but I do like to look put together while I am on holiday. I may not use every item in my pared down makeup bag, but they’re there in there so I don’t go shopping. These are items I use frequently and have been tried and true. This is also a brushless option.
On the top from left to right:
Chanel Compact Mirror
I got this ages ago and it has served me well over the years. I didn’t bring a powder compact with me, so this came along instead.
Laura Mercier Eyelash Curler
Absolutely a must have to open up my eyes. I don’t like fussing with mascara when I travel in sweltering heat (though that may change), so these help a lot. They’re more compact than the regular kinds.
Origins Spot Remover & Clinique Spot Treatment Gel
I don’t know why I brought both, but it’s a good thing they aren’t too heavy to travel with. The former for the emerging spot and latter for the emerged spot.
On the bottom from left to right:
Skin Food Peach Sake Pore BB Cream with SPF 20
This sets to a matte finish so you don’t need any powder and is good for oily skin or humid weather. It does cling to dry patches though.
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Roly Poly Rosy
You don’t have to bother with brushes with these. Draw them on and blend. The colour mimics a natural flush when it’s blended out and livens any complexion.
MAC Fluidline Eye Pencil in Earth Sign
I use this in my upper waterline to give my eyes some definition and to look more awake.
MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set in Bold Brunette
Without this, my eyebrows are non-existent. This is budge proof regardless of sweaty conditions (whatever those conditions may entail).
I brought 3 options to cover all bases. Dior Lip Polish, NARS Lip Gloss in Eternal Red and Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Nudist.
What’s in your minimalist makeup bag?
In the heat of summer, there's nothing worse that feeling muggy and smelling funky. I used to like spraying light colognes such as body splashes (the Bath & Bodyworks ones come to mind), however those don't always last long. So this time, before...
Gone are the days of toting round a makeup bag with a whole bunch of makeup paraphernalia in it. I've discovered I rarely touch up during the day. Not so much because I don't need it, but more likely than not, I'm too lazy (or too busy) to be...
Oh Lordy. This is excess. But yes, I do love me some good lip products. They can add a little something extra to an otherwise plain ensemble. I thought I would share my collection with you and also, remind myself to stop buying lip products! No...
